New Year, New Sendero!

Happy New Year from the Kings!

Wow, do we ever have some news to share with you! For the last year we have prayed and sought God’s will for El Sendero.  Many of you have been praying with us. Thank you!

With this new year comes a new El Sendero!  We have found a new location that meets our needs better than the old one; with our biggest need being that we stay open on Saturday nights!  From now on youth in Loja will have a safe, fun place to spend their weekends!  (the place is also in a great location, right off the bus line and is almost half the rent we are paying right now.)

But, not only are we changing locations- we are shifting focus!  This year, the restaurant aspect of Sendero will be downsizing and the ministries to youth and students will be upsizing.  The leadership team (Dustan, Becka, David, and Sandra) are so excited for what God has in store for us this year!  The youth are also excited and the feedback and encouragement has been incredible!

Oh, and if that were not enough change- this year David and Sandra will become SIM missionary partners.  As of Feb 2014, their salary will no longer come from the sales of El Sendero cafe but from supporters like you.  David and Sandra are well trained pastors and counselors and are a vital part of the El Sendero ministry.  We have just 1 month to raise 1,500.00/month for their support.  Please consider being part of their team.

And one last change.  El Sendero has always been known as El Sendero Cafe.  From now on we will be using the name, El Sendero Youth Center as we feel it better describes who we are as a ministry.

I lied, I have another change.  Our vision statement has also been re-written and I want you all to know what it is!

El Sendero Youth Center will strive to be a safe fun place for youth in order that they can encounter Chirst and that we can follow Christ’s command to “Go and make disciples”

Please pray for us!
Pray for wisdom as we continue to make decisions that will have lasting impacts on El Sendero and its ministries
Please pray that we will be able to raise the support needed for David and Sandra to continue in El Sendero leadership.  They are a vital part of our team and the financial need is urgent!  Here’s how to support them:
