Meet David

We would like for you to meet David Ludeña, a man who loves God and who desires to reach Loja city, Ecuador for Christ.

David used to be part of a gang.  The name of the gang was La Banda de Dañiel and it is probably unlike any gang you have ever heard of.

David was just a young teenager when Christ changed his life.  At the same time he met a missionary who would also change the course of his life. This missionary saw a need for Lojano believers to be well trained in sharing the gospel, and with this in mind he began to meet daily with four young men who named themselves “Daniel’s Gang”.  Every day, for hours, David and his three friends studied God’s word.  They followed the missionary as he worked and on weekends they would all leave the city and preach God’s word in the country side.

All four of those men grew to be servants of Christ, following Him as pastors and missions workers.

David’s journey took him first to Quito, then to Cuba, then to the Ecuadorian jungles, and now to the mountains of Ecuador where he has joined SIM missionaries in a coffee shop named El Sendero

That coffee shop is now making a change to become Loja’s only youth center.

When El Sendero Youth Center has it’s grand opening in February 2014  David Ludeña and his wife Sandra will be joining the missions team as ministry managers.  They will help to manage the center as well as to head up a missions training program, work as counselors, and host Bible studies meant to introduce students to the Bible and to disciple new believers.

David is one of just a handful of trained pastors in the entire city and we are thrilled that his passion for evangelism and discipleship has brought him to the ministries of El Sendero.

In order for David and his wife to become full time missionary partners, El Sendero Youth Center needs to raise 1,500 each month to support them as national missionaries.

Will you join the Ludeña’s team?  Will you pray for them and share their prayer needs with others?

We are seeking churches and individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of the youth of Loja.  Will you help us?
